With an emergency response training career spanning nearly 30 years, Signet Founder and President Todd Skoglund has been privileged to train thousands of emergency responders from various industries, sectors, and regions throughout the United States, Canada, and Kazakhstan. He is best known for consistently developing innovative and exciting hands-on activities, demonstrations, and training techniques often adopted and implemented by other leading training organizations large and small throughout North America. In addition to being a sought-after instructor and conference speaker, he served as a hazardous materials emergency response consultant to various response teams mobilized during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) held in Denver, CO. Todd holds a Masters Degree in Education, a Bachelors Degree in Organizational Management, as well as multiple certifications in NIMS ICS, Lean Six Sigma, PROSCI Change Management, and others.

Mike is our Special Projects Manager, Lead Instructor, and a senior member of the Signet North America team, joining in 2010. Currently serving as Assistant Chief of the Longmont (CO) Fire Department, Mike began his career in the fire service in 1981 in New Jersey. During his 11-year career there, he served as a Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief, and two years as Fire Chief.

Mike has been teaching hazmat response since 1999, and is recognized as one of the premiere hazmat educators in North America.

Tony began his career in the fire service in 1998, starting his hazmat journey in 2009. Since 2014, he has been a member of the Adams/ JeffCo (Colorado) Hazardous Materials Response Authority, a multi-agency team tasked with hazardous materials emergency response throughout the western suburbs of the Denver metro area.
His hazmat and instructional specialties include petroleum refinery operations, Advanced Chemical and Biological Integrated Response, Radiological Response, and RedWave technologies. Tony is also the pilot of the famous Firefighter Funny Car supercharger.

Tracie has been Signet’s Logistics Coordinator since 2010 and took on the role of General Manager in 2015, often providing the occasionally- necessary Adult Supervision to the rest of the team. Chances are, anyone who has interacted with Signet over the past decade has had the opportunity to collaborate directly with Tracie.

Moreover, Tracie brings a wealth of experience in education herself, contributing nearly thirty years as an educator in public schools, specializing in science education. In fact, some of Signet’s most well-received classroom demonstrations and activities have been directly or indirectly inspired by her innovative teaching methods.

Chris joined the Signet North America team in 2017. His emergency response career began in 2008 as a member of the Lafayette, CO Fire Department. He manages the training division for the Boulder County (CO) Hazmat Team.

Chris brings a wide range of emergency response expertise, with a particular emphasis on hazardous materials chemistry, toxicology, and air monitoring.
Chris’ response background is extensive, encompassing fixed facilities, clandestine labs, explosive production, over-the-road accidents, bulk shipping containers, environmental contamination, and other incidents involving advanced sampling, identification, and mitigation.

Shane brings a wide array of experience to The Team after decades of emergency service. He has worked in the fire service, hazmat, wilderness search and rescue, ski patrol, hospital, and air ambulance industries.

Shane has been a hazmat technician since 2004 and served as a Team Leader for Colorado’s Southwest Regional Hazmat Response Team. In addition, he served as a Tactical Paramedic for the Durango Police SWAT Team for 19 years and was a Rescue Specialist and Hazmat Specialist for the New Mexico Task Force 1 USAR team.

Joe served in the United States Marine Corps from 1997-2001 and began his career in the fire service in 2010. Since 2015, Joe has served as the Regional Response Coordinator for Wyoming Regional Response Team 3 covering 11,000 square miles of Wyoming. Joe has an extensive background in multi agency hazmat response, along with the strong first-hand understanding of the challenges and successes that brings. In addition to hazmat, he serves as a medic on the Laramie Special Response Team (SWAT) and is a member of the Hazardous Devices Team (EOD).

Joe Floyd began his career in emergency services in 2002, and has been an integral part of West Metro (Arvada, CO) Fire/Rescue since 2011. His expertise spans various areas such as paramedicine, wildland firefighting, technical rescue, extrication, truck operations, and hazardous materials. Joe co-leads the HAZMAT operations section for the West Metro Fire Academy.

Gale brings over forty years of experience in hazmat, law enforcement, wildland and structural firefighting, EMS, emergency management, and clandestine drug lab response and training. He is a certified FEMA Exercise Evaluator and Exercise Planner, has developed and delivered numerous professional and college-level courses, and served on the Colorado Governor’s Council on Hazardous Materials, Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Decontamination.

Gale’s multi-discipline emergency response and emergency management experience gives him a unique first-hand big-picture perspective that few can match.
