DESCRIPTION:CLICK HERE TO REGISTER NOW\nSignet North America’s 40-hour Highway Emergency Response course prepares emergency responders for hazardous materials incidents specifically related to personal and commercial highway transportation. This includes passenger vehicles\, mixed-load dry vans\, and cargo tanks.  Topics include alternative fuel vehicle response considerations\, container types and features\, basic repairs\, drilling and transfer techniques\, grounding and bonding\, and more\, all incorporated into an extensive hands-on experience. \nCourse objectives \nSignet North America’s 40-hour Highway Emergency Response course addresses criteria found in 2022 NFPA 470 Chapter 10\, Competencies for Hazardous Materials/WMD Technicians\, Chapter 11\, Professional Qualifications for Hazardous Materials/WMD Technicians\, and Chapter 22 — Competencies for Hazardous Materials/WMD Technicians with a Cargo Tank Specialty. \nDue to the hands-on nature of this program\, attendees will have opportunities to utilize equipment they may already have throughout the course.  Signet North America will provide everything needed for the class; however\, we also believe it is critically important that personnel be able to utilize the equipment they use within their own agencies. To that end\, we highly encourage attendees to bring their own agency’s materials and equipment whenever possible to learn the particular strengths\, limitations\, and specific applications of their own equipment. \n\nCourse Content \nThe goal of this Signet North America Highway Emergency Response course is to provide 40 hours of high-energy\, interactive\, and informative education designed to take the attendee through a wide range of subject matter to include\, but not be limited to (based on availabilities of equipment and containers): \n\n\n\nRelevant chemical behaviors and how they apply to and influence containers\nUse of Reference Materials\nAlternative Fuels Vehicles (passenger and commercial)\nNon-bulk Containers and Mixed-Load Cargo Vans\nCargo Tanks Overview\nBasic Container Damage Assessment\nGrounding and Bonding\nTransfer and Flaring Techniques and Considerations\nResponse Scenarios and Exercises\n\n\n\n\nRecommended Audience \nPrevious hazmat response training to the Hazardous Materials Technician level is recommended\, though not required. Upon completion of the course\, the attendee will receive a Certificate of Completion from Signet North America.
