DESCRIPTION:**SOLD OUT — Use registration link to be added to wait list** \nREGISTER NOW AT https://sipa.tfaforms.net/321381\nSignet North America’s 40-hour Highway Emergency Response course prepares emergency responders for hazardous materials incidents specifically related to personal and commercial highway transportation. This includes passenger vehicles\, mixed-load dry vans\, and cargo tanks.  Topics include alternative fuel vehicle response considerations\, container types and features\, basic repairs\, drilling and transfer techniques\, grounding and bonding\, and more\, all incorporated into an extensive hands-on experience. \nCourse objectives \nSignet North America’s Hazmat Highway Response course addresses criteria found in 2022 NFPA 470 Chapter 10\, Competencies for Hazardous Materials/WMD Technicians\, Chapter 11\, Professional Qualifications for Hazardous Materials/WMD Technicians\, and Chapter 22 — Competencies for Hazardous Materials/WMD Technicians with a Cargo Tank Specialty. \nDue to the hands-on nature of this program\, attendees will have opportunities to utilize equipment they may already have throughout the course.  Signet North America will provide everything needed for the class; however\, we also believe it is critically important that personnel be able to utilize the equipment they use within their own agencies. To that end\, we highly encourage attendees to bring their own agency’s materials and equipment whenever possible to learn the particular strengths\, limitations\, and specific applications of their own equipment. \n\nCourse Content \nThe goal of this Signet North America Highway Emergency Response course is to provide 40 hours of high-energy\, interactive\, and informative education designed to take the attendee through a wide range of subject matter to include\, but not be limited to (based on availabilities of equipment and containers): \n\n\n\nRelevant chemical behaviors and how they apply to and influence containers\nUse of Reference Materials\nAlternative Fuels Vehicles (passenger and commercial)\nNon-bulk Containers and Mixed-Load Cargo Vans\nCargo Tanks Overview\nBasic Container Damage Assessment\nGrounding and Bonding\nTransfer and Flaring Techniques and Considerations\nResponse Scenarios and Exercises\n\n\n\n\nRecommended Audience \nPrevious hazmat response training to the Hazardous Materials Technician level is recommended\, though not required. Upon completion of the course\, the attendee will receive a Certificate of Completion from Signet North America.

DESCRIPTION:**SOLD OUT — Use registration link to be added to wait list**\n\nREGISTER NOW AT https://sipa.tfaforms.net/321381\nSignet North America’s flagship NFPA 470 Hazardous Materials/WMD Technician course equips participants with the essential skills needed to respond safely and effectively to hazardous materials and WMD incidents.  These skills include hazard identification\, determining protective actions\, and utilizing specialized protective gear and equipment to mitigate a wide variety of hazmat incidents. \nCourse objectives \nSignet North America’s NFPA 470 Hazardous Materials/WMD Technician course equips participants to meet the standards outlined in Chapters 10 and 11 of the 2022 NFPA 470 standard for Hazardous Materials/WMD Technicians. \nCourse Content \nThis is a very intensive\, hands-on 80-hour program focused on essential competencies for managing hazardous materials incidents.  Topics shall include but are not limited to: \n\n\n\nChemical and Physical Properties: Understanding how hazardous materials react under various conditions.\nInformation Sources: Understanding and utilizing various published and electronic hazard and response information sources.\nChemical Detection\, Monitoring\, and Sampling: Techniques for detecting and measuring airborne contaminants.\nPPE Selection: Proper selection and use of personal protective equipment based on hazard analysis.\nDecontamination Techniques: Effective methods for reducing or eliminating contamination.\nSpill and Leak Control: Approaches for containing and mitigating spills or leaks.\nContainer Identification and Handling: Knowledge of different container types and their risks.\nIncident Command: Applying the Incident Command System (ICS) to hazardous materials emergencies.\n\n\n\nRecommended Audience \nPrevious training to the Hazardous Materials Operations level is required to pursue certification at the Hazardous Materials Technician level. Upon course completion\, the attendee will receive a Certificate of Completion from Signet North America.
