Signet North America was founded in 2006 on a singular belief that was straightforward — and long overdue. Elite hazmat training had long been the privilege of well-funded agencies with the means to send their teams to established training centers. Everyone else made do. We believed that wasn’t good enough. Hazmat incidents don’t discriminate between agencies that can send their team to are well-prepared and well-equipped and those that aren’t — which means every responder, regardless of agency size, location, or resources, deserves proven, unforgettable training that truly prepares them for what they’ll face in the field.

As we were deciding what to name the company, we were deliberate about one thing: whatever we called ourselves must represent something bigger than any of us. It needed to represent a standard of excellence rather than a person or place, with no cliche imageryThis ended up being more challenging than we had anticipated — until inspiration hit us from a completely unexpected idea: a ring. A signet ring is a historic emblem dating back centuries — engraved with a family crest or official seal. The wearer would press the face of the ring into wax on letters, contracts, etc., leaving their mark of excellence, used in place of a signature. We immediately knew we had our name. SIGNET— a mark of excellence as a whole. NORTH AMERICA — because from day one, we have served responders on both sides of the border.
We are, and have always been, a small family-owned business built on relationships, one responder, one agency, one class at a time. How small were we? In those early days, whatever we brought to a class had to fit in the back of a 2005 Honda Odyssey. Every piece of equipment we used, every prop we built, every tool we needed— it all had to fit in that family minivan. And somehow, it did.

Not another boring HAZMAT class....... This class was a great interactive learning experience. Todd kept everyone engaged and presented hands on activities for the key concepts. The first day of class everyone slowly filled the room by the last day the students didn't want it to end. I have been to numerous hazmat classes over the years and have never experienced a hazmat class quite like this. Thanks Todd!!!!!!

Career Changing I was voluntold that I was going to become a Hazmat Technician to meet the needs of my agency, and I had no previous passion about Hazmat. This class completely changed that. I thought I was going to hate the class and I absolutely loved it. The instructors are truly subject matter experts and have a lot of information to bestow on the students. Believe it or not, I actually wish I had more time in the class and it wasn't limited to 80 hours. It was outstanding.

One of the best Haz Mat classes I ever attended. After 28 years in the fire service, it was refreshing to participate in an interactive and informative class that is normally a very dry subject. Kudos to Todd and Signet North America for a well thought out curriculum. Even my son is using info I learned for his 6th grade science project.
