We're Not Your Typical Training Experience

Agencies rely on us year after year. Responders seek us out by name. That kind of trust is earned.

Why Signet exists

Signet North America was founded in 2006 on a belief that was straightforward — and long overdue. Elite hazmat training had long been reserved for well-funded agencies with the means to send their teams to established training centers. Everyone else made do.
We believed that wasn’t good enough. Hazmat incidents don’t discriminate between agencies that are well-prepared and those that aren’t. Every responder — regardless of agency type, size, location, or resources — deserves training that truly prepares them for what they’ll face in THEIR field.
Twenty years later, that belief is still the engine behind everything we do.

Yes, The Name Has Special Meaning

When it came time to name the company, we were deliberate about one thing: whatever we called ourselves must represent something bigger than any of us — a standard of excellence rather than a person or place.
That turned out to be harder than we expected — until inspiration came from a completely unexpected idea: a ring. A signet ring is a centuries-old emblem, engraved with a family crest or official seal. Pressed into wax, it left a mark of excellence in place of a signature.
We immediately knew we had our name. Signet — a mark of excellence. North America — because from day one, we have served responders on both sides of the border.

OUR MISSION HASN'T CHANGED. OUR CAPABILITIES HAVE.

We are, and have always been, a small family-owned business built on relationships — one responder, one agency, one class at a time. How small were we? In those early days, everything we brought to a class had to fit in the back of a 2005 Honda Odyssey. Every piece of equipment we used, every prop we built, every tool we needed — it all had to fit in that family minivan.
And somehow, it did.
Twenty years later, our mission hasn’t changed — but our capabilities have grown dramatically. Today we bring an entire activity-based training environment directly to you, including:
🔹 Chemistry /Chemical Behaviors — Our famous and often-imitated live demonstrations and activities that bring theoretical hazmat behavior to life;
🔹 Chemical Detection and Monitoring Equipment — 4/5-Gas, PID, Radiation, Colorimetric, and more;
🔹 Personal Protective Equipment — Full Level A and Level B PPE inventory for hands-on donning, doffing, and operational use;
🔹 Highway Tanker Prop — Full-scale DOT 406 fuel tanker prop for drilling and product transfer training;
🔹 Chlorine, Drum, and Pipeline Response Props — Specialized equipment for hands-on leak, spill, and containment training;
🔹 Leak and Spill Control Tools — Everything needed for hands-on mitigation and containment exercises;
🔹 Decontamination Setups — Complete decon systems for realistic decontamination training.
Of course, getting all of this to you now requires considerably more cargo space than that Odyssey had. For the record, though, it still runs like a top.

How We Do It

We don’t just send you a course catalog and call it a day. We build your version of the training you need, then bring it directly to you.
Every program we deliver is grounded in established standards — NFPA 470 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120(q) — then built around your people, your hazards, your equipment, and your operational environment. No generic curriculum. No off-the-shelf solutions.
Standards-based training designed specifically for your needs, delivered at your location by instructors who have been there. Your entire team trains together, on your home turf, on your schedule. No travel. No backfill costs. No time away from home. The way it should always be.

Wherever You Are, We'll Be There

To date, “you” includes federal, tribal, state, and local public safety agencies in 33 states, Washington D.C., and seven Canadian provinces — as well as a private sector client roster that spans:
🔹 Petrochemical and specialty chemical facilities
🔹 Semiconductor and pharmaceutical manufacturing
🔹 Lithium-ion battery manufacturing
🔹 Mineral and Uranium extraction operations
🔹 Railroads
🔹 Emergency response contractors
🔹 Hospitals
Over two decades and through thousands of relationships, you have continuously shaped what we do and how we do it — pushing us to be more effective, more relevant, and more unforgettable with every program we deliver.

Not another boring HAZMAT class....... This class was a great interactive learning experience. Todd kept everyone engaged and presented hands on activities for the key concepts. The first day of class everyone slowly filled the room by the last day the students didn't want it to end. I have been to numerous hazmat classes over the years and have never experienced a hazmat class quite like this. Thanks Todd!!!!!!

Career Changing I was voluntold that I was going to become a Hazmat Technician to meet the needs of my agency, and I had no previous passion about Hazmat. This class completely changed that. I thought I was going to hate the class and I absolutely loved it. The instructors are truly subject matter experts and have a lot of information to bestow on the students. Believe it or not, I actually wish I had more time in the class and it wasn't limited to 80 hours. It was outstanding.

One of the best Haz Mat classes I ever attended. After 28 years in the fire service, it was refreshing to participate in an interactive and informative class that is normally a very dry subject. Kudos to Todd and Signet North America for a well thought out curriculum. Even my son is using info I learned for his 6th grade science project.
