Signet North America’s NFPA 470 Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations course provides participants with the essential knowledge and skills necessary to recognize, assess, and respond safely to hazardous materials incidents. It aligns with the NFPA 470 Standards for individuals at the Awareness and Operations levels, focusing on identification, defensive operations, and coordination within the Incident Command System.
Signet North America’s NFPA 470 Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations course equips participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the standards outlined in Chapters 4 and 6 of the 2022 NFPA 470 standard. Upon completion, students will be able to mitigate risks to themselves, the public, and the environment by effectively managing the early stages of hazmat incidents.
This is a very intensive, hands-on 40-hour program focused on essential competencies for managing hazardous materials incidents. Topics shall include but are not limited to:
Previous training in hazardous materials response is helpful but not necessary. Upon course completion, the attendee will receive a Certificate of Completion from Signet North America.
